Celebrating the Upcoming Coronation

5th May 2023

Primary 6, along with the rest of the school, were able to have a fun day to mark the upcoming coronation of King Charles III.  We were able to learn about some of the main traditions of a coronation and about the building it would take place in.  We learned that the king will wear two crowns and he will wear the Imperial State Crown for the procession.  As part of the presentation we found out that the service for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation lasted 3 hours, but King Charles III wants a shorter, simpler service.

We enjoyed eating lots of yummy food today.  Mr Purdy did a great barbeque, where we were all able to get hotdogs.  Then after lunch the ice-cream van came and we were able to eat our ice-creams in the sun.  We also had the opportunity to eat some yummy party food in class.  We worked on some coronation wordsearches and on activity books gifted to us by Colin Tynsley, from Hope for Youth Ministries.

We really enjoyed a day of fun, food and playing out in the sun.
