Primary 6 have been learning a lot about the Vikings and as part of their active learning, they were able to take part in Viking Day. The children dressed up as Vikings, tried to make fire using flint and steel, as well as learning how to grind flour using the quern stone. Other stations allowed the children to weave bracelets and fences, play Trip Trap Troll (a Viking strategy game) and learn about weapons and armour. The afternoon saw the children making spears and having a sword drill. The children loved their day and there was a lot of learning happening outside of the classroom.
