Fire Safety at Carrick Fire Station
17th Nov 2024
The children in P5 visited Carrick Fire Station for a very interesting talk on ‘Fire Safety in the Home’. They were challenged to think of items in their houses that could cause a fire, to understand how smoke detectors work and to encourage their parents to have a plan if a fire ever occurred.
Everyone enjoyed seeing around the newly refurbished Fire Station and particularly looking at the equipment kept in the engines. The best part however was getting to use the hose to put out an ‘imaginary fire’!
The P5s had a fun and informative morning and are thankful to Dr Derwin for organising the visit. 😊
